In Friday Night Funkin, you play as Boyfriend, a young man who is trying to win the approval of his girlfriend's father, Daddy Dearest, through a series of rhythm battles. The gameplay primarily revolves around pressing arrow keys in time with the music to match a series of prompts on the screen. Each successful hit helps you win a "battle" and advance to the next round, but missing too many notes leads to failure.
