Shankaracharya Meaning refers to the title given to the spiritual leaders who are considered successors of Adi Shankaracharya, the great Indian philosopher and saint who revived Sanatana Dharma and consolidated the doctrine of Advaita Vedanta. The term “Shankaracharya” is derived from two Sanskrit words — Shankara, meaning Lord Shiva, and Acharya, meaning teacher or preceptor. Therefore, Shankaracharya Meaning can be understood as “the teacher of the wisdom of Lord Shiva.”
