Details

Are you looking for a high-quality universal primer for your subfloor? Then look no further. Introducing the Marldon Universal subfloor Primer MXS120 – a premium acrylic primer for use on porous substrates such as Cementitious and Calcium Sulphate/Anhydrite screeds and for priming timber substrates. A flexible substrate primer, the Marldon Universal Acrylic Primer is also ideal for use with underfloor heating.

Quality primers – such as the Marldon Universal Primer MXS120 – are ideal for protecting your substrate flooring before installation of upper flooring. This ensures that your upper floor can bond securely to the substrate.

The advanced formulation of the Marldon Universal subfloor Primer MXS120 allows for better flow characteristics and removes the adverse effects of suction. Ideal for use prior to application of Marldon MXS110 smoothing compound to remove the possibility of pin holes. Compatible with all Marldon subfloor preparation products.

Further benefits of Marldon’s Universal Primer MXS120:

● Low hazard primer.
● Easy to apply to substrate flooring.
● Helps to prevent ‘pin-holing’.
● Helps to maintain the flow characteristics of the screed.

Preparation information for Marldon’s Universal Acrylic Primer MXS120:

● Condition the contents by storing for 24 hours at +15°C – +25°C. Cooler temperatures will increase viscosity and make application more difficult. Higher temperatures will speed the chemical reaction and therefore reduce working pot life.
● Ensure all surfaces to be coated are clean, dry, frost free and free from grease, oil, dirt, dust, loose friable material and any other contaminants liable to prevent penetration into the substrate or adhesion to the surface.
● All dust and plaster deposits must be removed and vacuumed.
● Highly polished surfaces or concrete containing a curing agent or surface hardener may require shot blasting. Power floated concrete must be abraded or shot blasted to provide a good key for adhesion.
● Always shake the bottle to mix contents immediately prior to use.

How to apply Marldon’s Acrylic Universal Primer MXS120:

● All aspects of the installation must be in accordance with the requirements of BS 8204, BS 8203 (Installation of Resilient floorcoverings) or BS 5325 (Installation of Textile floorcoverings) and supplementary specifications.
● Suitable for use on both Cementicious and Calcium Sulphate/Anhydrite screeds.
● If applying a cementicious smoothing compound to a calcium sulphate substrate, please contact Marldon technical department for more information.
● Apply by brush or roller ensuring a continuous film, avoiding puddles and ensuring all the surface is fully coated.
