One of my favourite photos, it perfectly captures the spirit of rave culture. It was taken just after a night at Shelley’s in early ’91, when we’d all gathered at a service station to wind down… or try to. I spotted these three kids just before they left and instinctively took the shot, a moment that’s since become iconic. Their ghetto blaster was blaring Playing with Knives by Bizarre Inc, and they were completely in their element, you could tell the party was far from over. These were the nights that shaped us.
